Michael's Introduction
Hello!
This is my first blog post, so I thought I'd give a little introduction about myself.
I was born in 1976 in Kingsport, TN. I went to high school at Dobyns-Bennett and then college at The University of TN, Knoxville. GO VOLS!! I graduated with a bachelors in Chemical Engineering and minors in Chemistry and Business. Now I work as a Process Engineer for Kimberly-Clark Corp. (the maker of Kleenex, Huggies, Scott, Cottonelle, Depends, Kotex, Viva, Wypall, etc.). I'm currently working to improve the elastic fasteners on our Huggies diapers (we call them diaper ears).
I married my beautiful wife in Dec., 2001. We are active at our church, we love to travel, and we enjoy hanging out with friends and watching movies. We recently got our first dog, a Bichon Frise that we named Bono (after the lead singer of U2, of course).
I am an avid fan of U2 and I've seen them in concert 11 times so far. They put on an incredible show! Going to concerts is one of my favorite hobbies, and I enjoy lots of different kinds of music.
Soccer is my favorite sport and I've been playing my whole life. I still play on an adult soccer team, which helps me stay in shape. I played soccer and football in high school. The Dolphins are my favorite NFL team and I was very excited that Peyton Manning and the COLTS won the Super Bowl this year.
My faith life is very important to me. I consider myself a progressive and liberal Christian, and issues of social justice and peace really drive me in my spiritual journey.
Well, I guess that's a pretty good introduction. I'm sure they'll be more to come later.
